Describing current New Mexico drought conditions is a bit of a puzzle. Out in my Albuquerque garden this morning, I was pulling weeds easily out of damp soil, and the plants, with no supplemental water, are going bonkers. Yet I’ve been writing stories about surface water supply problems. What gives?
John,
Perhaps there’s something in here about the benefits of rainwater capture in urban areas?
Avelino –
Thanks for the comment. One of the problems here is that every bit of rain you capture and use is one less bit of rain in the river and available for downstream users. There are no free water lunches.
