With further assistance from Hallski, my RSS feed now should have a “read more” liink for those really long posts.
This isn’t one of those really long posts, but I need to test it to be sure it works.

Seems to be working perfectly!
Hi John,
The “read more” innovation is helpful. Another tweak could be to have 2 RSS feeds:
-one oriented for personal topics
-one oriented for Gnome topics –> planet.gnome.org
Because of the frequency of the inkstain feed, it can overwhelm the planet.gnome.org aggregation. Thanks for making the size of the posts smaller.
Cheers,
Phil
Phil –
I’m getting a bit of a mixed message. It was Planet GNOME people who asked for *larger* posts – the whole thing. Now other Planet GNOME people seem to want less. Dunno what to do here.
John: I think you should leave it to longer posts. Then it will behave like all the other feeds, other people just have to blog more to keep up 🙂
I second Mikael’s post.
The “Read More…” link sounds like a sensible compromise (is this the word used in English?) to me. When you had those interrupted-in-the-middle-of-a-sentence posts it was really annoying to have to go to your page in order to just complete that one sentence (and maybe discover the topic wasn’t all that interesting to you). And given your weblog frequency “the whole thing” was a little bit too much. So this is fine (at least for me 🙂 ).
