The pipe that carries Albuquerque’s Colorado River water is not actually all that big!
San Juan-Chama Drinking Water Project raw water delivery pipe. Note bicycle for scale, and also because I was riding it and parked it there.

Had a friend that worked on the Chama Project. He told me of one long diversion tunnel. If a stone had entered the tunnel, it would eventually tumble to the other end miles distant. The stone would be perfectly round like a large marble when they exited the tunnel. The stones ended up being paperweights on someone’s desk or given to VIPs. All part of the story I guess.
